Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy has vetoed a trade to the Cleveland Indians, Milwaukee general manager David Stearns confirmed Sunday.

The Indians were one of eight teams on Lucroy's no-trade list.

"Certainly, if we were at the point where we were strongly considering pursuing a deal, we were pleased with the return," Stearns told reporters, according to MLB.com. "But Jonathan's a very good player, as well, and if he's on our team going forward, we'll be happy to have him."

The Yankees and Indians have agreed to a deal that will send All-Star reliever Andrew Miller to Cleveland.

The trade was first reported by Fox Sports and confirmed by ESPN.

The Yankees will get a package of four players in return, headed by minor league outfielder Clint Frazier and pitcher Justus Sheffield, sources told ESPN's Buster Olney.

Brewers catcher Jonathan Lucroy was not in the starting lineup for Saturday night's game against the Pirates as Milwaukee considered trade possibilities.

The Mets reportedly have made a 3-player offer to the Brewers for catcher Lucroy and are willing to include a top prospect.

General manager David Stearns and manager Craig Counsell met before the game and decided not to start Lucroy.

"He's progressing on something," Counsell said of Stearns. "We thought it best that [Lucroy] not be in the lineup today.

The Padres have agreed to trade outfielder Matt Kemp to the Braves for third baseman Hector Olivera, a source confirmed to ESPN.

The deal, first reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, will become official once both players have completed their physicals.

The Padres are sending $10.5 million to the Braves as part of the trade, a source said.

The Washington Nationals are looking to fortify their bullpen ahead of Monday's non-waiver trade deadline.

The Nationals are willing to deal Lucas Giolito to the New York Yankees for Andrew Miller straight-up, according to sources.

Giolito, 22, is considered by many to be the top pitching prospect in baseball.

The Baltimore Orioles have had talks with the Tampa Bay Rays about a trade for Erasmo Ramirez.

The Orioles would use Ramirez as a starter. They had been linked to Andrew Cashner.

Ramirez, 26, has made 63 starts and 58 relief appearances in his Major League career.

The Washington Nationals and a number of other clubs have inquired with the Pittsburgh Pirates about Mark Melancon.

Washington is known to be looking for a late-inning reliever. Jonathan Papelbon has allowed seven earned runs over his last three appearances.

Melancon is earning $9.6 million in the final year of his contract. He has a 1.51 ERA in 41 2/3 innings this season.

The Cincinnati Reds claim that interest in trading for Jay Bruce has only been moderate this summer.

A number of clubs have reached out to inquire about Bruce, but Walt Jocketty says the offers have been weak to this point.

"You wouldn't believe some of the stuff," Jocketty said in reference to the packages offered. 

Jocketty added that the Reds are looking for a legitimate prospect given Bruce's value.

The Philadelphia Phillies "don't seem motivated" to trade Jeanmar Gomez, according to a report.

Gomez has a 2.83 ERA in 47 2/3 innings as the club's closer.

The 28-year-old would seem like a prime trade candidate for a rebuilding team, but he could provide stability in the bullpen going forward as well.

Despite adding Eduardo Nunez in a trade on Thursday night, the San Francisco Giants are still focused on acquiring a pitcher before Monday's non-waiver deadline.

It has been reported that the Giants were blanketing the market in search of a starter and reliever.
